Self inflicted

Self inflicted

If my memory ever fades

This body would be enough

To tell you of all the harm

I have done to myself

The little things hard to explain

The scars easily mistaken

For childhood injuries

So I don’t get any stares

The little things hard to explain

The scabs across my body

Which twice as long to heal

Washed away with time

Fading away when the summer comes

Beneath the surface only

Time can never repair

The little things so hard to explain

Why I couldn’t let nature take its course
